| The Utah Backyard Art Show is a one-day art tour started by a small group of Utah artists. The show creates visibility for local fine artists and provides the community with in-person access to artists in neighborhoods from Ogden to Provo. “This event is really a dream of making art accessible and encouraging the community to meet artists in person,” says Pam Baumeister, co-founder and host of Utah Backyard Art Show. Artists from all mediums will come together from 2 pm to 7 pm on September 18 to collaborate on their individual shows as part of a network of backyard events hosted by the artists in the Utah Backyard Art Show tour. This event is similar to the Parade of Homes, but for Art. Here’s how it works: An artist who hosts a show in their own backyard will select a handful of interested artists to join them. The Utah Backyard Art Show founders provide basic marketing materials and create a map for visitors, accessible via a QR (scannable Quick Response) code, to see where all the participating backyards are and which artists are participating at each location. |

Backlink on our website to your website (This helps with google search results!!) Digital files for signs and fliers A suggested timeline for tasks |
What the artists need to do:
Three posts minimum on social media (use hashtag: #utahbackyardartshow and tag) Email to your mailing list and to friends/family/neighbors Prep your artwork and prints Make sure you know how to have people pay for your art (get a Square or offer Venmo) |
What your group needs to do: Meet to discuss (zoom is good) Decide how you want to set up your backyard Print and hand out fliers to neighbors Music! Get a band or make a playlist refreshments?? Remember, to make it a pARTy!! |
